Articulation Activities
MAATJ teachers participate in various articulation projects and activities. ‘Vertical’ articulation connects teachers of all grade levels from kindergarten to college. Understanding each other’s program and concerns is a first step and an important milestone for supporting student’s continued learning as they advance from one level to the next or transfer one program to another. ‘Horizontal’ articulation creates valuable opportunities for teachers to share teaching materials, discuss effective pedagogy or student management, and tackle current issues together. Through engagements and collaborations, we can empower Japanese Teachers!

Japanese Language Education Global Articulation Project (J-GAP-USA)

J-CAN
J-CAN, or Japanese Core Practices Articulation/Advocacy Network, is a project proposed by the AATJ in 2016. While MAATJ J-GAP is a local articulation project which is part of the world wide Japanese language education network project, J-CAN is a project focusing on articulation which fits the foreign language education environment in the U.S. It is a project that aims at better articulation among teachers of Japanese in this country by understanding the concept of the Core Practices.

J-CANフォローアップ定期ミーティング
4つの教師会代表者が参加するJ-CANフォローアップ定期ミーティングは、教師会内／間におけるアーティキュレーションを推進していくために2016年9月から毎年3回行われてきています。教師会の活動情報を他の教師会と気軽に共有する場をもち、楽しく学び合いながら、お互いの教育、アドボカシー活動を活発化させる、これがミーティングの目的です。
